The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the recruitment of 357 Assistant Commandants (ACs) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) for 2025. Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Candidates appearing in their final year exams are also eligible to apply, provided they can produce proof of passing the degree examination at the time of the interview.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 to 25 years of age as of August 1, 2025. This implies they should have been born between August 2, 2000, and August 1, 2005. Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms:

- Chest: 81 cm (unexpanded) with a minimum expansion of 5 cm

Selection Process:
- Written Examination:
- Paper 1: General Ability and Intelligence (Objective Type) – 250 marks
- Paper 2: General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension – 200 marks
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standards Test (PST):
- Male Candidates:
- 100 meters race: 16 seconds
- 800 meters race: 3 minutes 45 seconds
- Long jump: 3.5 meters (3 attempts)
- Shot put (7.26 kg): 4.5 meters
- Female Candidates:
- 100 meters race: 18 seconds
- 800 meters race: 4 minutes 45 seconds
- Long jump: 3.0 meters (3 attempts)
- Male Candidates:
- Medical Standards Test: Candidates must meet the medical standards specified in the official notification.
- Interview/Personality Test: Candidates who qualify the above stages will be called for an interview carrying 150 marks.
Exam Pattern:
- Paper 1: Consists of objective-type questions covering General Ability and Intelligence. The medium of the paper will be both Hindi and English. Duration: 2 hours.
- Paper 2: Comprises descriptive questions on General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension. Candidates can write the essay component in either Hindi or English, but the comprehension and other components must be answered in English only. Duration: 3 hours.
