The Indian Army has announced the NCC Special Entry Scheme 58th Course for October 2025, inviting applications from unmarried male and female candidates, including wards of battle casualties of Army personnel, for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army. Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. Age Limit: Candidates must be between 19 to 25 years of age as of 1st July 2025. This means candidates should be born between 2nd July 2000 and 1st July 2006, both dates inclusive.
  3. Educational Qualification:
    • For NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders:
      • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
      • They must have served for a minimum of two years in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC.
      • They should possess an NCC ‘C’ certificate.
    • For Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel:
      • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
      • NCC ‘C’ certificate is not required in this case.

Selection Process:

  1. Shortlisting of Applications: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic performance and NCC credentials.
  2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a two-stage selection process at the Services Selection Board (SSB):
    • Stage I: Includes Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT).
    • Stage II: Comprises Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer Tasks, and Personal Interviews.
  3. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the SSB interview will undergo a medical examination to assess their fitness for commissioning.

Training: Selected candidates will undergo training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, for a duration of 49 weeks. Upon successful completion, they will be granted a Short Service Commission in the Indian Army.
