Requirements for Obtaining a Driving License

Two-wheelers (any motorcycle or scooter with a displacement under 55cc)
- A minimum of 16 years old is required.
- However, a signed declaration from your parent or guardian is required.
Vans, Jeeps, and Cars (Non-commercial light motor vehicles)
- One must be at least eighteen years old to operate an automobile or other non-commercial vehicle.
Large Commercial Transport Vehicles, Such as Trucks and Buses
- A minimum age of 20 years old is required to operate heavy vehicles.

Apply Online For A Learning License
- Visit to the Portal.
- Select Learners’ Permit/Drivers License.
- The next step is to select your state from the drop-down menu.
- Select “New Learner’s License Application.”
- Complete the application for a learner’s permit.
- To continue, click “Next.”
- On the designated date, schedule a visit to the Road Transport Office (RTO). Bring the fee receipt together with your original documentation.
How to apply for an Indian driver’s license
- Visit the webpage for Parivahan Sewa.
- Navigate to Driving License > Online Services. Choose your state. Select “New License Application.”
- Complete the online application. Documents must be uploaded. Take note of your application number.
- Select a time and day to schedule your test. Obtain the exam confirmation information.
- Attend the test at the RTO with the paperwork and receipt. Go for the driving test.
- Should you succeed, your license will be issued.
- A license will be available for download when it is posted.
