Undergraduate students in the United States who are currently receiving a Pell Grant as part of their tuition package are eligible to apply for study abroad scholarships through the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program. Only citizens and nationals of the United States are eligible for this federally sponsored award, which offers up to $5,000* for a semester or academic year. Scholarships are offered for the spring, summer, and fall sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*An additional reward of up to $3,000 is available to applicants who are studying a critical need language overseas, for a possible total of $8,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To qualify for the Gilman Scholarship, you have to be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Note: Recipients of the Gilman Scholarship are only eligible to receive it once. Students who have previously been denied the Gilman Scholarship are welcome to reapply as long as they continue to meet the aforementioned qualifying standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students can study and intern abroad during the academic year or in the spring, summer, fall, or January. See each term for further details regarding the dates of the application cycle’s deadlines and timetable.
